We are seeking a full-time Cutter/Sizer to work at our production plant in Gainesville, Georgia.  This is an hourly position, and you will be paid weekly for time worked.

As a Cutter/Sizer, you will use a knife—or a similar extremely sharp cutting tool—to slice raw chicken meat into precise shapes and/or sizes.  The chicken meat is kept on a table at a temperature of 35°F or lower.  You must grasp a piece of chicken meat, place it on the cutting table, and cut it to specific lengths, widths, and thicknesses, depending upon the required specifications for the order.   This is a rapid, repetitive cutting process performed on an assembly line.  High yields and strict quality control are required.

A minimum production rate of 70 pounds per hour is required to meet production standards.  The more meat you cut, the higher your hourly rate, as your pay rate is adjusted based on your performance (speed).

You will be provided with protective personal equipment (PPE), such as boots, smocks, etc.) and will work in a cold, damp room.  This job is performed in a standing position for an 8-hour shift with little lower-body movement, as the physical activity is mostly performed by the upper body.  Cutters/Sizers should change their stance—or at least move their legs—every hour.

A 30-minute break is given midway through the first part of the shift, and a 30-minute lunch break is also provided.  Each work team takes all breaks, including lunch, at the same time.

We run multiple 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday with work on Saturdays required occasionally.  Some overtime may also be required during the workweek.

Please Note:  This position is not recommended for individuals diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, or those who have undergone surgery on their hands, arms, or shoulders.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Ability to hear, speak, read, and comprehend communications in English and/or Spanish.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• One (1) or more years of butchery or knife-use experience preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions given by supervisors and obey safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, arms, shoulders, etc. in order to perform job duties.
• Ability to stand for 8 hours during a workday.
